Meeting for the Arrangement of Elective Courses Etnosasambo PPG PreService Batch 2 2023

Mataram, December 21, 2023 – In an effort to optimize the learning experience for prospective teachers, the Professional Teacher Education Program (PPG) Pre-Service at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Mataram University held a Meeting for the Preparation of Elective Course “Etnosasambo” in the 2nd Wave of the 1st Semester of 2023. The Head of the PPG Pre-Service Program, Dr. Dadi Setiadi, M.Sc, delivered a speech during this coordination meeting. In his address, Dr. Dadi Setiadi emphasized the need to refine the “Etnosasambo” elective course to make it an effective and relevant learning instrument in line with educational developments. “Etnosasambo serves as the primary foundation for integrating multicultural values and local wisdom into the educational process. Therefore, the preparation of this course must be done carefully and thoroughly,” said Dr. Dadi Setiadi.

The event was also opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at Mataram University, who provided guidance and officially inaugurated the workshop for the preparation of the “Etnosasambo” elective course. The Dean of FKIP Unram highlighted the importance of character education in shaping a morally upright generation capable of appreciating diversity. “Through the ‘Etnosasambo’ elective course, we aim to produce prospective teachers who are not only proficient in academic fields but also possess sensitivity to cultural values and good character. This workshop is expected to result in a curriculum rooted in local values, thus creating a broad-minded education,” said the Dean of FKIP Unram.

Every instructor of the “Etnosasambo” elective course was invited to actively contribute to this workshop. They were encouraged to share ideas and experiences to enrich the content of the elective course. The curriculum development process is expected to create an engaging and meaningful learning experience for prospective teachers, while also enriching them with local wisdom.
